About Us

Estrella Mountain Community College is a nationally recognized leader within the Maricopa Community College District. Offering courses since 1990, the college opened its Avondale campus in 1992.

Providing educational opportunities and workforce training for western metropolitan Phoenix, Estrella Mountain serves a burgeoning population of over 285,000 residents.

Currently, more than half of Estrella Mountain’s service area is minority, with minority students comprising more than 42% of the college’s total enrollment. The college's annual enrollment stands at more than 13,000 students and is projected to to reach over 40,000, credit, non-credit and Skill Center, when the college’s 135-acre campus is complete.

With growth the driving force and planning for the future a constant necessity, Estrella Mountain has developed unique strengths to meet its challenges.
