To mark the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, the P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center in partnership with the city of Goodyear Arts and Culture will host nationally acclaimed author, Stella Pope Duarte, for a presentation on her novel, Let Their Spirits Dance (HarperCollins, 2002).
Duarte’s novel brings to life the story of a family, a neighborhood, and a journey across America toward healing and redemption.
Stella Pope Duarte’s years of research and interviews of Vietnam Veterans and their families in the U.S., and those who served with Americans in Vietnam, broaden our minds, and bring hope for a time of great trial and protests in the U.S.
Let Their Spirits Dance is considered “one of a kind” in the history of the U.S. and is described as a “feast for the soul, illuminating and triumphant.” It offers an opportunity to remember those who served in one of the most controversial wars facing our nation. All are welcome to join in sharing memories, paying tribute to those who served, and honoring the 58,267 Vietnam Veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice and whose names are engraved on the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C.
Copies of Ms. Duarte’s book will be available for purchase following the presentation.
